Lemon myrtle, (Backhousia citriodora) is a flowering plant, native to Australia. It can grows up to a height of 60 feet. It also called as sweet verbena tree, sweet verbena myrtle, lemon scented verbena, and lemon scented backhousia.
It is heavily aromatic and has a characteristic taste. It contains about 90-98% of citral. It also contains minerals like calcium, zinc and magnesium in good amounts, as well as vitamins A and E.
